For nearly a decade, Legal Centre Lesvos has provided free legal support, working on the ground with people on the move, offering legal advice, representation, and challenging systems that violate the right to dignity and freedom.
We’ve supported thousands while remaining fully independent from state and EU funding. This has allowed us challenge injustice without compromise – and it’s why clients and communities trust us. With your support, we’ve built a dedicated, talented, and compassionate team that gets results.
But right now, we’re at a crossroads.
The need is greater than ever, yet we cannot continue at full capacity without urgent funding. Individual donations usually cover 15–30% of our budget, but with politically aligned foundations depleted, we are increasingly dependent on your support.
If we don’t raise enough soon, we will be forced to scale back: fewer lawyers, fewer cases, and fewer people supported, just as rights violations intensify.
People continue to flee war, poverty, and climate disaster. In 2025, anti-migrant rhetoric and policy have escalated across Greece and Europe. On Lesvos, EU border practices continue to violate basic rights: deadly violence at the border, criminalisation on arrival, degrading camp conditions, surveillance, evictions, and denial of EU-funded assistance.
This is not a crisis of numbers—it’s a crisis of justice. And we won’t walk away.
That’s why we are launching an urgent end-of-year crowdfunder, to keep going at full strength through 2026.

- €300 → emergency petition before the European Court of Human Rights

- €1500 → criminal defence for a migrant accused of “smuggling”
